Restore Michele and Danny's Flood-Damaged Home

My name is Sandy. Michele was my bus assistant at FCPS for 2 years, and we have remained good friends after she moved to live her dream life in Florida. Michele & Danny would never ask for help, but some of you have learned that they have been cleaning up after their house flooded in hurricane Helene. Not only have they been cleaning, they have had to throw most of their belongings in the trash. They lost living room furniture, furniture in their bedroom, their daughter’s bedroom, all their grandson’s new baby furniture, power tools, appliances, all their food, and all of Michele’s personal keepsake memories. Not only have they been throwing away their own belongings, but they have helped in the cleaning up of a house they rent instead of just making the landlord do it, because that’s just what they do. They had renter's insurance, but it doesn’t cover flood damage, so it’s up to them to replace everything they own. Can we try to ease their burden and help them refurnish their home?

Michele and Danny have always gone out of their way to show others their kindness and generosity, and I think if everyone gives a little, we can make a huge difference and show them how much they are loved.

*Pictures were added after the cleanup and in preparation for Hurricane Milton. It’s all that is left. The sofa was just purchased because they had nowhere to sit except on mattresses on the floor.
