Hello, my name is Carter Salinas, and I am reaching out to you during one of the most tragic and heartbreaking times of our lives. My grandparents’ home, where so many precious memories were made, was completely destroyed by the Los Angeles Altadena Fire this past Wednesday. The house, which has stood for more days than anyone could count, was more than just walls and a roof; it was a place filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of joy. Each room held a story; from birthday celebrations to family gatherings, it was a safe haven for friends and family through all stages of life.
Unfortunately, the fire took everything my grandparents’ have worked so hard for. The walls that once held photographs of loved ones, the kitchen where family dinners were shared, and the rooms where dreams were nurtured—all now reduced to ashes. But it’s not just the material things that are gone; it’s the memories, the comfort, and the sense of belonging that has made this loss so overwhelming and devastating. We are overcome with both shock and sadness at the impact of the fire on the communities of Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, and Sunset. We pray for everyone affected and we thank those who have worked tirelessly to protect all citizens, especially my grandparents.
I am asking for any assistance to help them rebuild this house, simply not just a structure, but a place where my grandparents can hold onto cherished memories, . With your generous support, we hope to restore what was lost and create a safe place for family and members of their community to gather, create new memories, and honor the legacy of our past.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in bringing this house back to life. Your kindness and generosity means more to us than words can express. Thank you for your support.
With gratitude,
Carter Salinas
