Sometimes life just isn’t fair... especially when good hearts get hurt for doing the right thing.

Matt was just a kid when Dan stepped into his life and became the father he desperately needed. Matt’s biological parents struggled deeply with addiction and trouble with the law, but Dan saw something in this little kid. He saw a chance to give him love, stability, and a real shot at life. From that moment on, Dan became Dad. He’s always put Matt first, taught him what it means to be kind, honest, and incredibly hardworking. And he’s made sure that Matt never lost touch with his biological father, because family matters, even when it’s complicated.

Fast forward. Matt is now a high school graduate and started working hard at his first real job... saving every penny he could. His big dream to buy his very first truck himself. Something that he could point to and be proud of. And earlier this month, he did it! It was one of those proud “made it happen” moments... the kind every parent hopes to see their kid experience.

But that joy was heartbreakingly short-lived.

When Matt’s biological dad asked to borrow the truck “for a quick run to Taco Bell,” Matt didn’t hesitate - because that’s who he is. Kind. Trusting. Full of heart. Sadly, that trust was betrayed. Instead of a quick food run, his biological dad drove drunk, took the truck joyriding, and completely totaled it... destroying what Matt had worked so hard to earn.

Matt had the truck for less than two weeks.

Dan (the dad who’s always put others first) is heartbroken for his son. And while they’re both trying to pick up the pieces, we want to show them that kindness still exists in the world.

We’re raising funds to help Matt get another truck. It doesn’t need to be brand new... just something safe and reliable so he can get to work and back, and feel that spark of pride again that he earned.

If you’ve ever had someone take advantage of your kindness, you know how much it stings. But together, we can turn this heartbreak into hope.

Every dollar, every share, every kind word makes a difference.

Thank you for helping Matt see that there’s still good out there.
