Hi everyone,
I’m writing to share the story of an incredible woman named Marjorie Randall, a lifelong animal lover and rescuer who has dedicated her entire life to caring for the voiceless—cats, dogs, and even birds!
Marjorie was displaced after Hurricane Ida turned her world upside down. She eventually resettled in Opelousas, Louisiana, where she purchased a property with a dream: to turn it into a safe, loving sanctuary for animals in need.
Right now, she lives humbly in that space with a family of animals—kittens, adult cats, doves, chickens, roosters, and five dogs—many of them rescued, abandoned and orphaned, or injured. The bond she shares with these animals is nothing short of extraordinary.
But the building on the property is in rough shape. The roof is leaking, the interior needs repairs, and there is no proper infrastructure to house so many animals safely and comfortably. Despite these challenges, Marjorie continues to care for them day in and day out, using her own resources and an endless supply of compassion.
She’s not asking for much—just a little help to make this dream a reality.
Our goal is to raise $7,500 to:
-Fix the roof and make the building weatherproof
-Renovate the inside to create clean, safe spaces for cats, birds, and other animals
-Add proper ventilation, insulation, and animal-friendly materials
-Cover basic supplies to make the space sustainable
This isn’t just about fixing a building. It’s about giving dozens of animals a second chance, and Majorie her home back. She has given so much to the animals who have crossed her path. Now, it’s our turn to give back.
If you’ve ever known the unconditional love of a rescued animal, or seen the healing power of a second chance, you understand what this sanctuary could mean—for both animals and the people who care for them.
Please consider donating, sharing this campaign, or sending some words of encouragement her way. Every bit helps bring this dream closer to reality.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth
