For the Love of Lucy - Vet Care Needed
A couple of months ago, Lucy developed a urinary tract infection, and it wasn’t caught right away. Lucy started to want to go outside more frequently, and I noticed she would assume and hold the potty position for what seemed longer than normal. A couple of weeks went by, I was back at work and saved up to get her into the vet's office. When we went, a urinalysis wasn’t done because she didn’t pee for the tech at the time, but the vet went ahead and put her on an antibiotic and sent us home. Over the course of a week, nothing changed. The frequency was increasing, and we still weren’t peeing hardly any drops. We went back to the vet's, and they got a urinalysis done, increased the antibiotic strength, and away we went. Over this week, I noticed Lucy starting to have a major reduction in appetite, activity, interest, and mobility due to a torn tendon in her rear leg and developed arthritis in the same leg. Things have been downhill since, and the little bundle of pure love that always greets me when I come home, walks and runs to show you where she wants to go, and is quick to have a bite if you’re offering, is now a shell of sadness, and that’s how I can describe her currently. The vet suggested that she has surgery on the leg to tighten it and regain her mobility, and it would be $3500 without a guarantee it’s successful.
Lucy has lost roughly 11 pounds in a week; the vet says nothing abnormal. She has lost her appetite, and I have to almost make her eat. She’s not able to walk very far, and standing to use the bathroom has become a chore for her.
For people that have interacted with Lucy, if they saw her today, they’d say it’s not her. They’d also tell you that she means everything in the world to me, and I would fall off into a dark place if anything were to happen to her. My past few checks have been to vet bills; I just really need help getting her this procedure so I don’t have to wait weeks to save it and still not have it. I pray that you find it in your heart to help me help Lucy, and I PROMISE she will personally lick your face for thanks.
