Hello, I'm Louis.

I know we are all in the same boat, well, 99.99% of us. But let's take you on a quick adventure! I live with my dog Bella; she's a Staffy/Shar-Pei mix. We are from Kansas City, Missouri. I am a retired disabled veteran, 62. We live on just my Social Security and some disability, but they are both meager and just enough to keep us housed, fed, and happy! I usually have to use SNAP, but I only get $26.00 a month. I visit a food pantry when I can get transportation, or there is a local church that offers a drive-through pantry once a month, so I take my wagon and join the line with the cars. We all laugh in amusement. I use the bus, my electric scooter, and public transportation, and use delivery for groceries, Amazon for much else. Sometimes I have to use the public works charity programs for my utilities, and I pay for my phone. As you can see, there is not much left for dental care. But I had a few extra dollars after our budget and was able to purchase Physicians Mutual at a fair price, and I just paid my first month's coverage.

Now, you're probably wondering where this is going. I haven't been to a dentist in a long time and haven't had many problems with my teeth, except one capped molar. I brush and floss religiously, but with all the years of PTSD/MST trauma, it has caused me to damage my teeth pretty severely. I have been reclusive but not a hoarder! lol. Because I feel the shame when I smile, I have RBF all the time. It has taken a good therapist and lots of pills for me to come out of isolation. My teeth need to be realigned due to them being shifted and worn or ground down (Bruxism). Mouth guards really don't work or last. So, that takes me to you. I need to get braces and either tooth bonding or veneers on my 6 front/bottom teeth. I require assistance in the Kansas City area. If you know of a pro-bono or discounted cosmetic dentist practice, please let me know. Everyone else, give what you can. Will you help me smile again, please?
