Help my Mom, "get HER SMILE back!"
Dear Friends, Family, & Social Media Platforms,
I come to you with a heavy heartfelt request.
As some of you may already be aware, my mom, Lori Bowlin, has been in need of some extensive dental surgery which includes both simple & surgical tooth removal of all of her remaining teeth, bone grafting, Alveoplasty, multiple implants, & implant supported permanent dentures. Dental surgery is necessary due to excessive loss of teeth, recurring infections, pain, & aggravated & worsening migraines. Her overall health is now being affected. Her quality of life is not what it should be due to these dental issues.
The surgery cost is $36,000!
Despite all of her patience, & efforts, the cost is beyond our reach! Her health is suffering as a result in the delay of having what she needs done. However, the finances have just been unobtainable for us.
I started this GoFundMe to help cover these dental surgery expenses, so that my mom can focus on relaxing & destressing before the surgery, & then focus on healing after surgery.
We are working hard to share on all social media platforms, with friends & family, and our local churches & businesses, but this takes time.

It would mean the world to all of us, but especially my mom.
I'll try to give you a breakdown of everything as best I can.
The total cost needed for my mom's surgery is $36,000.
There will be two different doctors working together on her procedure, an oral surgeon & dentist.
The dentist will be taking the impressions for the temporary dentures, making them, fitting them, & making any necessary adjustments. After 4-6 months of healing, he will then make the permanent dentures. This will be for the upper & lower teeth.
Mom will have her first visit with the dentist, for the impressions. Then any visits needed for adjustments. Her second visit with the dentist, other than adjustments, will be to pick up her permanent dentures. The total cost for the dentist is $10,350. Again, this is just a brief summary for both doctors.
The oral surgeon will be performing 4 simple extractions, 5 surgical extractions, Alveoplasty, 2 root form implants, & a single site bone graft. She will be put to sleep for this procedure, so there will be 2 units of IV sedation, as well as some local sedation. Mom is on blood thinners, so there has been a process given by her Pulmonologist that has to be followed by both her & the doctors with these medications pre & post surgery & she has to be watched carefully during & post the surgery for bleeding. There will be distribution of theraputic drugs for infection & pain control following surgery. She will have post operative visits with both doctors following the surgery. This is everything involved for the lower teeth.
For her upper jaw, there are 10 teeth total. The oral surgeon will be performing 5 simple extractions, 5 surgical extractions, Alveoplasty, 4 root form implants, & a single site bone graft. Again, this will be for the upper teeth. Upper & lower will all be done at the same time.
The total cost for the oral surgeon is $25,650. Again, this is just a brief summary. I hope this breakdown helps show how extensive this surgery is & gives you an idea of the cost breakdown as well.
Mom is only 54 yrs old.
In May 2025 she had to have 3 teeth removed due to a bad infection & pain, so she is now down to 16 teeth instead of the 19 mentioned below.
(currently only has 19 teeth, of which only 13 are intact, & none are jaw teeth.)
She has trouble chewing her food properly & has gotten choked several times because of this. She has started eating softer foods to avoid this problem. Since Aug./Sept. 2024 she has been on 9 courses of antibiotics for these reoccurring infections, which cause her to struggle with debilitating pain. Anxiety & depression continue to plague her because of the physical & mental stress this has caused. Mom also suffers from debilitating migraines. Sometimes these can last 3-4 days. When they last this long, they cause nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of appetite, & often will put her in bed for a day or so. We are concerned that her teeth problems may be closely related to or maybe even causing some of her migraines. She takes migraine medication twice daily & also has a migraine medicine that she takes for breakthrough migraines. However, recently they have not been helping much.
Not only are her teeth causing new health problems, but they are also aggravating & worsening others issues, but it has also taken her smile away!
She has a long road ahead of her with the surgery, follow up visits, adjustments, & healing. I’m sure there will be several days of pain & discomfort in her future! So, please keep her in your prayers.
Any donations that we receive will go directly towards my mom's dental surgery, & anything that she might need due to the surgery. She simply can not afford the cost & she can not do without the surgery!
