Restore Livelihood for Vallejo Uber Driver
Donation protected
On Sunday July 21, 2024 around 1:30am, my mother-in-law’s 2019 Honda Insight Hybrid was tragically destroyed due to negligent, careless, and reckless conduct from two individuals shooting at innocent citizens and fleeing from a sideshow. The police chase ended on Tennessee St. where the car was tragically totaled.
An insurance claim was made but unfortunately she will only be getting enough money back to pay off the rest of her car. This means she is stuck in a precarious situation without a car.
Prior to this incident, my mother-in-law was employed by Uber full-time. Her car was her livelihood. It is how she made a living and now she is uncertain of what her future holds.
At this time, we are asking the public for assistance in gathering enough funds for a down payment for a new vehicle so she can continue to work and make an income for herself.
In addition to needing the car for her employment, my mother-in-law has been selfless enough to offer her services to others in times of need. She has often given family members and even strangers stuck on the highway or the road rides to places free of charge.
For myself, she has been crucial in ensuring that my six week old makes it to her doctors appointments, as well as offering her services to me when I need assistance running errands. I am also starting law school in Santa Clara in the fall and was depending on her to take me to classes as well as providing childcare. She does not deserve what has happened to her in any regard.
She has become another innocent victim in the lawlessness that has become more and more rampant in Vallejo. The sideshows have become out of control. We humbly ask for your support in assuring that she can make an income for herself whilst going through this tragedy.
Thank you very much.
