Hello! My name is Lilo Wagner, and my mommy is helping me set up this page! I am a 10 year old 40lb Pitt/foxhound mix, with perfectly controlled Diabetes and Cushings Disease. However, I have cataracts…and they got really bad really fast! I saw my doctor and he told mommy that the cataracts are as bad as they are going to get; I can not see anything in front of me and everything in my peripheral vision is blurry. I have many many healthy years left (per my doctor), but I am struggling with losing my eyesight, even though my family is doing anything and everything they can to help me adjust. The doctor said I would be a perfect candidate for surgery, but I don’t have insurance and the surgery is going to cost around $5,000. My mommy, grandma and aunty have all agreed that I am scared and really struggling. I’m no longer the youthful, playful, fun loving, cuddly, interactive and loyal dog I once was. Mommy thinks I might be depressed…I don’t even play with my stuffies, or play fetch (my fav pastime) anymore. She says I’m like a different dog. So I and my family are asking if you might have just a little extra to spare towards my goal of having cataract surgery by the end of the summer.
