Help Us Restore Kevin’s Memorial Plaque
In May of 2017, lives were changed forever when we lost Kevin Wirth to a tragic act of violence.
Years ago, to ensure everyone had a place to honor, remember, and grieve Kevin, a memorial plaque was placed in the city he loved so much - Lansing, MI. (Lansing City Pulse)
Recently, we were heartbroken to learn that the plaque was stolen. This wasn’t something that could be easily taken as it was secured with multiple bolts and placed with special permission from Parks & Recreation. A police report has been filed and anyone with information should contact the Lansing police department.
We are working with Signarama - East Lansing to replace the plaque, and they’ve generously provided a discount. The new plaque will be even more secure, using theft-proof bolts and being welded directly to the bench to help prevent this from ever happening again.
Even with the discount, the cost to replace and install the plaque is still significant - over $1,300.
We are asking for help to bring Kevin’s memorial back. Our goal is to restore a place where people can continue to honor Kevin’s life, remember the joy he brought, and find comfort in a space that belongs to everyone who loved him.
Kevin deserved better than this. And together, we can make sure his memory continues to be honored the way it should be. ❤️
Thank you for your love and support.
