In April, I experienced a sudden and unexpected hearing loss that began as a seemingly minor issue. What initially appeared to be a simple ear infection quickly escalated to near-total hearing loss in both ears. Medical professionals diagnosed me with Bilateral Sudden Sensory Hearing Loss (BSSHL), which has also begun affecting my eyesight. Doctors are now exploring Cogan's Disease, an extremely rare autoimmune condition impacting inner ear and eye functions.

My medical journey is ongoing, with numerous specialist appointments and referrals still pending. The financial burden is significant - cochlear implants and hearing aids are necessary, but insurance coverage is limited. Compounding my challenges, my home requires critical foundation repairs this summer.

As a single-income household, managing these extensive medical and home maintenance expenses feels overwhelming.
