My name is Janice Hopwood. I am sharing this story on behalf of my cousin Keisha Harris. This GoFundMe endeavor was triggered by her ongoing battle with uterine fibroids, a medical condition that has been plaguing her for over 20 years.
This condition has hindered her from completing her studies in nursing at the Northern Caribbean University, a program that started all the way back in 2010, and has also made it quite difficult for her to function in a typical work setting, especially if it involves significant periods of sitting or moving around. There have been other compounding complications from this condition that have resulted in her being treated for different ongoing conditions that will persist until the larger issue is resolved. These experiences have been rather taxing for Keisha on both a physical and emotional level. In order to get her life back on track, Keisha will be required to undergo a medical procedure known as embolization—a minimally invasive procedure that blocks the arteries supplying the uterus, ultimately killing all the fibroid tumors.
The cost for this procedure, however, far exceeds her financial capabilities. She therefore requires your support to make this procedure a reality.
Your kind consideration and subsequent contributions will be greatly appreciated.
