Here's The Scoop, located in Washington, DC, across from Howard University, was hit by a thief on May 14, 2026. What was stolen from a community ice cream shop, you may ask? At about 11:46 pm, a thief stole a beautiful ice cream cone statue that sat in our patio area for the community to enjoy as they took photos, ate ice cream, and gathered with friends and family.

Since our opening in 2019, we have beautified our front with creative ice cream cones that people have enjoyed taking photos with family and friends when they visit. This was our new addition in 2026 to replace our older cones that the weather elements beat up over time. We were so excited to start the season with this, and for someone to steal it is disheartening to me as we try daily to make Here's The Scoop an enjoyable gem in the community!
