Restore Johnny's Stolen Livelihood

Donation protected
My name is Bryan. I hired a handyman to help with repairs and painting around my home. Johnny and his wife, Marieta, have been coming by for the last two weeks doing the prep work necessary for the painting to be done earlier. They both finished the detached garage, which came out amazing. While doing the necessary prep work, Johnny discovered that the back stairs were in need of some serious repairs due to dry rot and termites. We both agreed that he should fix the damage before continuing, but it was such a big job that he got some extra help from a gentleman he knew through a self-help group at church. The morning Johnny was supposed to work on the stairs, he calls me on my cell phone, waking me up. I work nights, and Johnny is usually considerate and careful not to wake me up, so I was a little surprised at the call. After apologizing for waking me up, he asks if I could come outside to talk to him. I meet Johnny at my back door, and he's a complete wreck. Tears streaming down his face, he tells me that his van with all his tools was stolen that morning from in front of his home. He showed up to my home with nothing but the shirt on his back, the helper he got, and now borrowed tools to start and finish the work on the stairs as promised. Johnny's livelihood was literally stolen from him this morning, and he still showed up to do the work he promised to do with just the bare minimum. Johnny said what was stolen from him this morning was an accumulation of hard work and saving over the course of several years, only to be stolen from him in an instant.

I can give Johnny all the tools I have, but it still doesn't scratch the surface of what was stolen from him. He still needs a work vehicle to transport and carry his tools and supplies.

I'm posting this story on here in hopes that by some miracle, we can help get Johnny and his family back on their feet. I've only known Johnny and his wife for a short time, but I can tell they are good, honest, hard-working people that now need our help. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.
