Restore John and Lisa's Lost Livelihood
Spende geschützt
In late April, John and Lisa experienced a devastating fire at their home in Grass Valley. While their living areas were thankfully spared, the fire completely consumed their storage containers and carport which held all of their personal belongings and livelihood tools.
Inside these containers were irreplaceable family mementos, the tools John uses to run his contracting business (every carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry tool he’s built up over a lifetime), as well as the equipment that supported their day-to-day life on their property like generators, heaters, fans, furniture, and more. They also lost their tipi and safari tent, which were used to host neighbors, family, and friends in the spirit of community. Another container held all of their outdoor and recreational gear.
The fire also destroyed their carport, which housed both a motorcycle and John’s work vehicle — the only items covered by insurance.
John and Lisa are resilient, grounded, and generous people. They’ve poured their hearts into building a life on this land and making a life for themselves here, and we’re asking for help as they begin to rebuild what was lost. Your donation will go directly toward replacing essential tools, gear, and resources to help restore their daily life on the property and John’s ability to work.
Every contribution makes a difference, and we’re deeply grateful for your support.
