Help Rebuild My Elderly Mom’s Home After Hurricane Melissa

It is with deep sadness that I share how my beloved country, Jamaica, has been devastated by Hurricane Melissa. My 78-year-old mother’s home was severely damaged — the roof was torn apart, and everything she worked so hard for her entire life has been destroyed.

For as long as I can remember, my mom has opened her heart and her home to others — family, neighbors, and anyone in need. Even in her old age, she continues to give selflessly to her community. Now, she’s the one in need of help.

The entire house is soaked from the heavy rain, and many of her belongings are beyond repair. To make things even more heartbreaking, my nephew’s home was also destroyed and is no longer livable.

We are asking for your help to restore the roofs of both homes so that my family can return to a safe, stable, and basic way of living. Funds raised will go toward:

• Roof repairs and essential home restoration

• Basic necessities such as food, towels, sheets, pillowcases, and clothing

• Essential supplies like heavy-duty gloves, tape, and first aid kits

• Support for others in the community who are struggling after the storm
