First and foremost, we thank God that my parents are alive. In the wake of Hurricane Milton and its many tornadoes, their lives were miraculously spared, though their home, the place that meant everything to them and our family, has been destroyed. They’re safe, but their lives have been turned upside down in a matter of minutes.
My parents’ home in Fort Pierce, Florida, was always a safe haven—a place that stood strong through so many storms, a home that opened its doors to family, friends, and anyone in need. Whether it was hurricanes, hard times, or just a need for love and laughter, my parents were the ones who gave endlessly. This house held decades of precious memories: holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, game nights, and countless gatherings of joy. It was the place my parents wanted to retire, the last house they ever planned to live in. Now, all of that is gone.
My dad, being the Marine Veteran and hero he is, threw himself into action with unwavering bravery the moment the roof was torn away. He quickly guided my mom and grandmother into the only place in the house that could offer protection—a tiny downstairs bathroom barely big enough for two. His courage is the reason they’re alive today.
But now, they need help rebuilding. They have given so much over the years, always putting others first. It’s a humbling experience for them to be on the receiving end, but this is an emergency that has taken everything they’ve worked a lifetime to build. Every donation will go directly to helping them rebuild and begin to pick up the pieces of their lives. Any amount, small or large, will mean the world.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you even more if you’re able to help. Let’s help bring back a bit of stability and hope to two amazing people who have given so much of themselves. God bless you all.
