My name is Crystal Young, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my cousin, Venice, also known as Miss Chin, who lives in Westmoreland, Jamaica. She has been through unimaginable hardship — she is 100% blind in one eye and about 40% blind in the other eye due to retinal detachment, which was caused by her being diabetic, and now she’s facing homelessness after the recent Category 5 hurricane devastated her home. When the storm hit, the strong winds tore the roof off her small house. It collapsed on her, and she was rushed to the hospital with injuries. She survived by the grace of God, but she lost everything — her home, her belongings, and her sense of safety. Due to her blindness & being diabetic Venice already faces daily challenges in navigating life in rural Jamaica. Now, with no roof over her head and limited access to resources or support, she’s in urgent need of help.

• Medical expenses related to her injuries and eye condition

• Basic necessities such as food, clothing, and medication

• Assistive resources to help her live safely and independently
