My name is Nayelli Ramirez Juarez, and I am the eldest of 6 children in the family of Veronica and Eleazar Vazquez. On January 2nd, at 9 AM, while we were in Georgia visiting a family member at the hospital, we received devastating news that shattered our world — our home was on fire. As we learned that everything we cherished had been destroyed, we were left only with the shell of what had been our safe haven for the past 12 years.

The drive back to Statesville from Georgia felt unbearably long, filled with tears and heartache for four hours as we processed the loss of our home. During this incredibly difficult time, we are reaching out for support and kindness from those who can help us through this tragedy.
