This GoFundMe is on behalf of my sister, brother-in-law and their four kids. Shane and Domonique Harwood live just outside of Guthrie, Oklahoma on a farm with their four kids and many animals. On March 15th, 2025, wildfires hit central Oklahoma and many in the Guthrie/Coyle area were forced to evacuate quickly.
My sister, brother-in-law and kids were home that day, working hard in their garden and on the animal pens that they had poured their heart and soul in to and built most of from scratch. They were able to leave with a change of clothes and the animals from in the home - but returned to find they had lost everything they had to leave behind.
They lost their home, their belongings and many of their animals on the farm. A couple of goats had escaped and were rescued in a nearby burning pasture, and one of the baby piglets was also found and returned -giving the kids some hope and faith for rebuilding.
Unfortunately, they did not have insurance, and they had built most of what they had from scratch including having started on adding on to their home.
Shane is a bus driver for the local school district and Nique is a home health CNA - they both serve the community with big hearts and are always quick to help others when they can.
If you are able to give in any way - it would be appreciated by our family as we wrap them in love and help them rebuild. The funds would be used to help get them shelter on the property, so they can tend to the animals they were able to save and to provide stability for the kids so they can continue in school. Funds would also be used to help meet immediate basic needs for the entire family, as well as secure pens and stables for the animals.
