My name is Lasania McKenzie, and I currently reside in Virginia. My mom, Sophia lovingly known as “Dahlian in Smithfield, Westmoreland lost everything during the devastating Hurricane Melissa. The home she lived in for many years was destroyed. It was more than just a house it was where she raised her three beautiful children, where love and resilience filled every corner, even when times were tough.

She didn’t grow up with much, but she always made the best of what she had. My mom is hardworking, driven, and one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. A few months ago, she opened a small shop to create a better future for herself and her youngest son, but the hurricane took that too. Despite losing everything her home, her business, and her sense of stability she continues to stay strong and hopeful.

I’m asking for help to rebuild her home and her life. All funds raised will go directly toward repairing damages, replacing necessities, and providing essentials such as clothing and supplies needed after this devastating natural disaster. Your kindness will help bring brighter days to a woman who has spent her life giving love, strength, and kindness to others.
