Hello, I am a friend of Samuel. He was affected by the tornado in London, Ky on Friday. We have created this GoFundMe to help get Samuel into a house/apartment and be able to provide all the needs he is needing. We also want to try and get his car back running. I will list his story below.

Samuel Parker, age 63, lived a quiet life in his tiny home nestled near Adventure Pets. Life hadn’t been easy—his car had recently broken down, and he was already facing the challenge of daily living without reliable transportation. But nothing could have prepared him for the terrifying night the tornado came.

He was at home when he heard the warning come across the radio. With nowhere else to go, Samuel laid down on the floor, praying for protection. In an instant, the roaring winds tore through his home, splitting it apart and lifting Samuel and the very floor beneath him into the air. He was thrown several feet away, landing in a pile of mangled debris that had once been his sanctuary. Trapped under the wreckage, he couldn’t move or call for help.

Beside him, another man had also been buried by the destruction. Miraculously, that man was able to free himself and seek help, ultimately saving them both. Samuel was rushed to the hospital where he received staples in his head and remained under care for several days.

Now, with his home destroyed and no vehicle, family, or insurance to support him, Samuel is left with nothing. Yet through it all, he remains firm in his faith. “God spared my life for a reason,” he said. “So I can tell people how real He is. I’m here to share my testimony.”

This is where we come in. It’s our turn to be the hands and feet of Jesus—to show Samuel the goodness of God in action. He survived the storm, and now we have the opportunity to help him rebuild what was lost. Together, let’s stand in the gap and be a living testimony of compassion, love, and community.
