On October 28, 2025 Hurricane Melissa devastated the neighborhood in Petersfield Westmoreland Jamaica where my wife grew up and we own a home. Her family members were unfortunate enough to experience the terror and strength of Melissa first hand. They lost their homes, all of the beautiful vegetation that made their neighborhood so comforting and everything they owned. Their hospitals, stores and little community businesses were destroyed as well as their livelihoods. This neighborhood is now in dire straits with nothing by the clothing on their backs, each other and little hope. We are gathering donations of clothing of all sizes (infant to adult), shoes, toiletries, non-perishable foods, tarps, batteries, water purification kits, garbage bags, vegetable seeds (so they can grow their own food). and solar chargers. The funds collected here will pay for shipping of these items and will go directly to purchase building materials. Everything collected will go directly to rebuild and support the community of Petersfield Westmoreland . We hope you can help us, to help them - to begin to rebuild their lives. After suffering such a tremendous loss, we didn't know what to do and feel this will bring some hope back to this special community as we raise money to support them. They deserve it.
