Just wanted to give my nephew Marc Anthony Cabrera the opportunity to get some support during this tragic experience. Aiming to hopefully provide at least $4K to help with about half of the estimated value of the belongings destroyed in the House Fire that occured to my parents home on friday afternoon. Anything more leading up to $10K would be phenomenal as that would relieve the financial burden completely allowing him to solely deal with the emotional and mental distress that comes along with such devastating circumstances. Marc has always been close to my parents and recently made his second round back to live with them so he can save up for a house of his own. Unfortunately, but also fortunately, he was not home when the fire took over, claiming his belongings. He was grateful his grandparents were okay, as their room and his room were the first to be consumed by the fire. After rushing to get home to be relived his grandparents were safe his next concern was that he had lost his baby album, by God's grace and prayer it was located in the rubbished and semi-salvageable buy most of everything else was not. Marc Anthony was very young when his experiences of loss began with the loss of his father (me & my sibling's brother Ralfy), which has been followed by several other great losses on his maternal side. He is a former Navy Boatswain's Mate Petty Officer 3rd Class attached to the USS Essex (LHD 2), so there are items from the ship he also lost that would bring him comfort if able to get them replaced. He's no stranger to perseverance, and we know he'll be determined to navigate through this next stage of uncertainty. Marc was uncomfortable with asking for assistance himself as he feels his grandparents are in desperate need compared to what he's facing. However, I can't dismiss recognizing that his struggles are still heavy for him to carry on his own. He is a big gamer, so all his investments in systems, dual monitors, self-built PC, controllers, projector, desk, and many other electronics and accessories were destroyed...$8K+ over the years and nothingto account for it. I will be having him set up an Amazon wish list for items anyone is willing to replace, but most important is raising funds towards restoring the personal basic necessities such as shoes, clothes, toiletries, cologne, etc., and cost due to being temporary displaced. His first thoughts after it hit him that he and my parents no longer had a home was to see how he can possibly figure out a way to get his home buying process expedited so he can proivde them with the same comfort they always gave him of having a place to settle and feel safe. Unfortunately there's just so much going on and many other factors that this house fire has brought on that all we want for him to focus on is being able to manage his current situation with as less stress and the most support as possible.
