Restore Hope for Dad After Cruel Scam

My dad was the victim of a horrible scam this morning. He lost all of his savings to evil people who used AI to impersonate the voice of his nephew and told my dad they were going to chop his nephew up in little pieces if he didn’t send them money. He spent the day running around emptying his bank account and sending the money to the people claiming to have his nephew hostage. He was ordered to stay on the line and not call the authorities because they were following him around and would hurt his nephew. They told him they were tracking him and that they had tapped into his phone and would know if he called anyone. They then ordered him to wait in a parking lot where his nephew was supposed to be getting dropped off. After three hours of waiting in a parking lot for his nephew and no sign of the supposed kidnappers, he built up the courage to call his nephew just to discover it was all a scam.. he then called me in tears explaining what had happened to him.

8 months ago my mom was killed by a drugged driver on her way to work and my dad used nearly all of his savings to cover funeral costs. He has worked hard over the last 8 months to financially try to recover. Sadly the scammers took everything that he had in his bank account and added to his existing trauma. My dad is older and he is not tech savvy, he doesn’t even know how to send a picture through a text. I am in disbelief that people out there are so cruel.
