My kindhearted friend and former coworker, Autumn, was recently robbed. Her car was broken into and all of her money that she worked so hard to earn was stolen. Autumn is a beautiful soul, a single mom to her 2 young sons, and a fellow service industry worker. Those that have worked in the industry understand that our earnings are often mostly composed of cash rather than a check. The money stolen from Autumn was earned through hours of hard work and labor that she and her family were relying on for food, gas, and bills. Also, with the holidays coming up, Autumn was planning on using some of her earnings to provide Christmas presents for her boys.

I believe that in the spirit of giving and generosity, any amount that you can spare this season not only helps out a friend and her sons, but also can help serve as a reminder that we must come together and support one another through uncertain and tough times.
