I am a 69 y/o, disabled, woman. I have had the blessing to be able to work as a caregiver for older folks for 30 years. I had been doing my job with passion and joy, but a serious unexpected lung infection left me needing oxygen for awhile. I have had people (most generously help me, for which I am incredibly thankful, but I am still left with some big bills purchasing my oxygen supplies. I am hoping to get my oxygen supplies paid, so I’m able to live on my (now) reduced income. I thank you, everyone , for reading this.

I expect to recover from this, but it’s taking time, using the portable oxygen concentrator. The portal tank cost $3000, but having it allows me to get stronger faster and to get back to the level of work I was at previous to the lung infection. I am hoping to pay for my portable tank faster so that I don’t get behind in paying my regular bills. I thank everyone kindly for thinking of me and wishing me well. I have been in and out of the hospital for the past 3 months. I am now permanently on oxygen as the doctors believe that I have suffered from a pulmonary embolism.

I have been in the hospital because I had suffered a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) The doctors preformed a procedure called a Thrombectomy. A Thrombectomy is a procedure to remove the blood clot surgically. During this time, I’ve been diagnosed with May-Thurner Syndrome. However, the procedure had failed. I had rushed back into the hospital 3 days later. I had to have 3 stents placed into my legs. 2 in the right, and 1 in the left. I have been in a recovery center for about 2 weeks now.

I have been unable to work during this time because of my hospitalizations. I am getting another procedure done called a Right Heart Catheterization. They’re doing this to check my lungs, and heart. I appreciate all of your help, and I thank you so much for taking time to read this.
