Restore Hope and Mobility for Moses

Donation protected
**Update as of April 19, 2026
Thank you to all who have donated! Because of your generosity Moses was able to travel to Hope Mobility and receive a wheelchair! He is now back home, but his journey is not over.
We are still in need of your support as we hope to continue to provide Moses with physical therapy and medical scans to guide his course of treatment.
We would also like to continue restoring hope and purpose in Moses's life through training him to carry out a trade or providing him jobs he can do from his wheelchair as a way to support himself. Donated funds would go towards purchasing materials to get Moses started with these trades! I hope you will consider continuing to impact Moses's life!

Will you consider helping my friend, Moses?

I met Moses while studying abroad in Kenya, Africa this January. Moses lives in rural Kenya, and because of his physical disability, he is unable to walk, meaning he must rely on his arms to drag himself across grass, gravel, and other harsh terrains everyday, to get anywhere.

This hasn’t always been Moses’s life. Moses is a high school graduate and previously worked as a boda boda (recreational motor bike) driver transporting his community members to their desired destination. One day while driving boda boda, he was in an accident where his spinal cord was severely injured leaving him paralyzed. Before the accident, Moses was also married, but his wife left after he could no longer work or support a family due to his condition.

While chatting with Moses, one of his family members explained how sometimes he comes to visit Moses and “he’s just crying because he can’t do anything, he can’t go anywhere, and he feels so alone.”

Just one week before meeting Moses, my class was in Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi, where we visited an organization called “Hope Mobility.”

Hope Mobility is a ministry dedicated to “Sharing the hope of Jesus Christ through the gift of mobility.” It serves individuals living with physical disabilities by assessing their needs and fitting them for mobility equipment such as wheelchairs. Beyond meeting physical needs, Hope Mobility provides Christian counseling to those receiving care and their families. Through this support, individuals are encouraged by the message of the Gospel and reminded that they were created by God on purpose, for a purpose.

Meeting Moses, hearing his story, and having been to Hope Mobility only days before, I knew I could help him. So I asked him, “Moses, could I take a picture with you so that I can go back to my friends and family in America and tell them your story and see if they would be willing to sponsor a wheelchair for you?” He agreed.

So now I need your help.

I have started this GoFundMe so that together we can help restore HOPE and MOBILITY in Moses’s life. The money you donate will help cover the cost of the following:
  • Bus tickets for Moses and a few family members to make the 9 hour trip from their village to Nairobi, Kenya
  • Transportation costs to transport him from the bus stop to Hope Mobility and other destinations in Nairobi
  • Wheelchair fit specifically for Moses and his needs
  • Hope Mobility service fee
  • Depending on how much time Hope Mobility’s services require, an overnight stay in Nairobi

Any donations beyond our goal will fund physical therapy for Moses, helping him regain strength and work toward learning a trade so he can support himself.

I thank you in advance for your generosity and support, and I can’t wait to see what difference we make together!
