Restore Hope: Aid a Family After Fire Loss
Donation protected
On Saturday, August 16th, 2025, a fire took claim to my home. We were driving back from Green Bay when an officer called me and told me that my home was on fire and my stuff was not going to be salvageable. My mom and I drove to see for ourselves as it felt unreal, like a bad dream. Upon the turn, I saw smoke rolling in the sky and soon we walked into full view to see my home up in flames. I wish I could tell you exactly what went through me, but all I can say is it’s something you never want to see or happen to you in a lifetime. I am blessed that we weren’t home, but our entire lives went up in those flames. Materials can be replaced, of course, but there are so many sentimental things that will never be replaced. It’s like watching helplessly as our entire lives are erased like they never existed. Everything I’ve worked so hard for, everything we’ve prayed for, all gone. Life is permanently changed for us. We don’t have anything.
Right now, our main focus is raising money for a security deposit on a new home and start rebuilding together as a family. We woke up that morning with a home and went to bed without one, and I can’t express how badly the urge to “go home” feels now that I am settling into the reality that we don’t have one to go to. I’m broken, lost, mourning, traumatized, and completely distraught from the experience. Seeing everything be torn down with nothing to save, not even my grandma’s ashes, is a nightmare I will live out day after day.
I want to extend a huge thank you to anyone who donates, anyone who has donated outside of this, and all of the prayers and support that we’ve received since it happened. My heart is heavy, but it remains hopeful as the community continues to show me and my family so much compassion and support.
