Restore Holiday Joy for Twin Boys

Dear Supporters,

My name is Khadijah Hewitt-Nelson, and I am reaching out for help in the wake of a tragedy that has left my family devastated. A recent fire took everything from us – our home of 8 years, treasured belongings, and, most heartbreakingly for my 9-year-old twin boys, their beloved Christmas tree and cherished video games.

We are a close-knit family, and this house was more than just a structure; it was our safe haven filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. My boys, Chris and Will, are lively and joyful kids who loved reading, exploring the world through maps and video games, and eagerly awaited decorating their Christmas tree each year. In fact, that was one of only 3 items Chris put on his Christmas list this year. We just finished decorating on Saturday. By Monday afternoon, all their hard work was gone. They handmade their ornaments, as they've done for the last 3 years.

As a result of the fire, we lost all our essentials – books, clothes, furniture, and the roof over our heads. While we're grateful to be safe, the loss of our belongings and home is overwhelming. Chris and Will are having a hard time understanding why their familiar world has been uprooted, and it breaks my heart to see them struggle.

We are humbly asking for your support to help us start over and rebuild. Your donations will go towards:

- Securing housing

- Replacing essential items such as clothing, furniture, documents, and household supplies

- Providing my boys with books and educational materials for their studies

- Bringing back some joy by replacing their lost train sets, video games, their keyboard, and festive decorations
