I’ve been struggling financially since I was diagnosed with cancer and forced into retirement. I had to choose between taking care of myself or making necessary repairs to my home. My roof has been leaking in spots because the roof is more than 30 years old! Unfortunately, the roof needs to be repaired, and a part of a wall and shingles need to be replaced. In addition to the roof, my water heater is shot too. It has been leaking for a while, which caused my water bill to skyrocket, over $1700! I made payments but couldn’t keep up. Now I find myself locked out of my home because the water company shut off the water. I tried hard to keep up with the repairs but fell behind. Now I find myself relying on family to stay with while I figure out how to get my home repaired.
