I am setting this up on behalf of my loving Grandmother, I refer to as Grammy. Due to the unfortunate circumstances my Grammy lost her home of over 40 years. My grandparents worked hard to provide for our family, purchase and upgrade their home perfectly for them. Unfortunately, we lost my PaPa in November 2005. She is a 75 year old widow of almost 20 years and retired LVN.
We are asking for contributions to help her to adjust to this new normal. I was able to get her from the home safely but none of her prized possessions were able to be taken. In the rubble are our family pets; Bullman, his sister Fire and George II, our beloved great aunt Bea and my precious best friend -my PaPas remains. Those are just a few of the things she holds dear that could never be replaced. My grandparents worked hard to have a home and other assets, and now we have nothing left but our memories.
This is the only home I’ve known, I know that my Grammy’s pain supersedes my own. I am truly heartbroken. The home next door was my aunt and uncles, there’s nothing left. I pray for my uncle and cousins. My grandparents whom owned a home around the corner, there’s nothing left.
Sadly, her homeowners insurance company cancelled her a few months prior to the fire, because her social security check was a day late!! She tried to obtain a policy and was told they can’t provide the coverage due to her being in a “fire zone.”
I risked my own life that morning to save her, now we must adjust to this new normal, together.
We understand that many have been affected by this horrible tragedy, many friends and families have also took big losses and/or are struggling financially. We humbly ask for any blessing that God places on your heart.
We are in this together. Anything truly helps. We humbly thank you in advance for any offerings and blessings bestowed upon us.
On behalf of my beautiful Grammy, thank you.
All proceeds will go to her towards providing her with clothing, toiletries, and other necessities that FEMA and other programs can not.
