Restore Gloria's Hearing: Fund Her Cochlear Implants

Gloria is a wife, mother of three children, and a fabulous educator. She has been in education for 20 years serving students middle school through elementary age. She currently serves as a Reading Specialist and Interventionist for the elementary campus of New Waverly Elementary School in her hometown of New Waverly. Gloria suffers from hearing loss and has been in hearing aids. The aids no longer assist Gloria and her hearing loss has progressed to the point that she needs cochlear implant surgery. She has been visiting with doctors and planning this surgery for over a year. In January, she scheduled her surgery with her surgeon for May. This would have given her time to adjust to the implants over the summer. This is an extensive procedure for someone with hearing loss.

she went to her pre-op appointment a few weeks ago and insurance denied her surgery. She has appealed and her doctor has appealed on her behalf and she still has been denied. With three children and her livelihood being working with school-aged children in phonics and the area of reading, Gloria depends on having this surgery to continue her passion for helping kids. Without this surgery, this passion may be terminated before its time.
