I'm Erica Mann, a volunteer with Fix West Texas from Midland, Texas. Over the last few months, the organizers, volunteers and donors behind this program have brought out the best in Texans. This morning, we saw the worst.
The trailer containing ALL of the equipment that has been collected and donated the last few months was stolen. It was at a sign shop getting an official logo so that we could spread our message far and wide, and the worst of humanity barged in and attempted to ruin everything.
For those unfamiliar, Fix West Texas is grassroots, community driven organization that has brought affordable spay and neuter clinics to West Texas. We live in a city with shelters so overwhelmed, that they have to euthanize over 3,000 healthy dogs and cats yearly.
That is a staggering number. But Fix West Texas has give us numbers of hope. In just two clinics this year, over 800 dogs and cats have been spayed, neutered and vaccinated. This is amazing progress, but we have miles to go before we sleep.
Please consider a donation no matter how small to help us refill and replace the trailer. I will transfer the funds directly thru Venmo to Fix West Texas as they come in.
