Fernando here, setting up this Gofundme to help me and my brother Vicente recover film gear stolen, as well as to get our grip truck back into working order. In Dec of 2024, a thief went on a stealing spree through several apartment complexes, with crowbar and spray paint in hand and pried the slick locks off our van door and stole all of our film gear. This included Aputure lights, Dracast panels, extension cords, our playback speaker, audio equipment, grip hardware and tube lights. The van had been packed the day of to be used for a shoot the next morning, but to my brother Vicente's surprise- when he went to the garage later that evening, he found the van door open, with all of our gear missing. He has to pay out of pocked and scramble that very night to rent a whole grip trucks worth of lights and film gear to bring to set for his shoot.

Since then, the thief has thankfully been arrested and sentenced to jail and insurance has covered about half of the film equipment stolen, but we are still short on the film equipment we had, and the van itself has become inoperable.

We both feel we had a lot of momentum in our film business, and were growing our grip truck rentals and grip truck gaffer services, but ever since the theft, the van has sat empty and in operatable in Vicente's parking garage. There was loss in monetary value, as well as loss in morale. 12K worth of film gear, built up over 10 years, gone in 1 night.

I believe that this Gofundme would really help us out in jump starting our business, and help turn this negative into a positive.
