We are folks who lost a sweet cabin in Millard Canyon in Altadena, CA, as a result of the Eaton Fire. Our cabin was built in 1929 and little or no work had been done on it since. In January 2024, we hired Felix Garcia, a self-employed general contractor, to remodel the cabin. Over the year, Felix, his son, and the rest of his crew, put in a new septic tank, bathroom, roof, and basically rebuilt the cabin from inside out. Working with Felix was such a joy! He was friendly, honest and hard working. He sent us pictures nearly every day so we could see the progress and it was beautiful! By January 1, 2025, the cabin remodel was nearly completed. Then, the fire came and took the cabin, but more importantly, it took all of Felix' work tools. He cannot work with them. He has replaced some tools but his need, like others, is overwhelming.
We would like to help Felix buy new tools so that he can continue his livelihood and help rebuild Altadena. A good, honest contractor is hard to come by and Felix is one of the few.
