Restore David Kamoiro's Tools for Wildlife Photography

Donation protected
My name is Dr. Jean Boal, and I am a retired university professor; I taught biology, including ecology and animal behavior. I am hosting this fundraiser for David Saitabau Kamoiro, a modern Maasai from Kenya.

I got to know David on Facebook because of our mutual interest in animal behavior. David is an enterprising young man who makes his living photographing and sharing information about the wildlife where he lives. He has shown remarkable talent and industry in turning his love for his beautiful country into a way to make a living. Kenya is a magnificent country with great diversity both physically, ecologically, and culturally and is a popular safari destination. You can see David's work on his Facebook page, where he has 36K followers.

Recently (18/4/25), David was attacked and left unconscious on the side of the road. His assailants took everything. Most notably, they stole all his photography and electronic equipment that he uses to earn his living and support his family. Fortunately, some good people picked him up and took him to the hospital. He is home now, recovering.

GoFundMe is not available in Kenya, so I gladly agreed to create a site on David's behalf. Please consider helping David replace his camera, lenses, lens cleaning equipment, extra batteries, phone, and laptop with a few dollars, if you can spare them. If not, please share this post to get the word out.

Thank you!
