Restore Confidence: Fund Surgery for NF1
Donation protected
Hello, my beautiful family and friends! I’m just asking for a little bit of help, something I have never done… As most of you may already know, I suffer from a condition called neurofibromatosis (NF1), which is a genetic mutation I was born with that causes tumors to grow, most being benign.
Since my early 20s, neurofibromas (tumors) have continued to pop up all over my body, internally and also on my face, some causing lots of nerve pain, and there is nothing that can be done about it. There is currently no cure. Though I do have over 100 fibromas spread all over my body, the ones that cause me the most insecurity are the ones on my face. In the past 10 years, two have grown and become quite large. I have recently found out that some of these can be removed. I found one of two who will complete the procedure. Last week, I met with the surgeon, and he gave me the great news that the surgery will be possible!
I ask for your help because insurance will not cover any cost since they believe it is a cosmetic procedure. I would say that these fibromas have done a lot to my self-confidence and the way I view myself. I went from being an extrovert to someone who doesn’t want to be seen by anyone. The only thing I want for Christmas this year is to look somewhat normal again. The cost of the procedure is $2700. I have already paid the $1000 deposit, so I just need to come up with the last $1700. If there is anything that you can donate, even if it’s $1, it can help! Thank you for listening. Love you all!
