In a world where selflessness often goes unnoticed, let us take a moment to place a spotlight on two extraordinary individuals, Christy and Chris Boeckel! These two have dedicated their lives to serving others. Their story is one of sacrifice, unwavering dedication, and now, an unexpected battle against Cancer!

Christy and Chris wear multiple hats - Pastors of not one, but two churches, community service, and their electric business. They have spent many years in our region pouring into others and never asking for anything in return. Their lives have been a testament to love, kindness, and generosity.

Recently, life took an unexpected turn when Christy received a diagnosis that no one should ever face - an aggressive form of cancer. As they navigate this challenging journey, it becomes evident that the burden extends beyond the emotional and physical toll; it touches the very place they call home.

For the past 7-8 years, their house has stood incomplete, a tangible representation of the sacrifices made for others. Their home currently has open walls, unfinished ceilings, uneven floors and a bathroom in disrepair. This picture of neglect for their own home is a stark contrast to the warmth and care they've showered upon their community.

Now, more than ever, we have an opportunity to come together and make a profound impact on their lives during this devastating time. Our goal is twofold: to alleviate the mounting medical costs that accompany such a dire diagnosis and to transform their home into a sanctuary for healing and restoration.

Imagine the solace Christy could find in a space that radiates love and a home where every corner is a story of compassion. Their finished home will provide physical comfort, but also it will forever be a symbol of what we can do together for the Boeckel's during this challenging time.

Recently while sharing a meal with Christy and Chris, just after receiving the news of her diagnosis, she was asked the question many are asking them, “what do you really need right now?” And with tears streaming down her face, she said, “I want a home!”

If you are in the trades and can help, or know someone who can, we are going to have a “move that bus” moment where we can collectively pull together and over 4-7 days finish the entire inside. We need to hang windows, remodel the bathroom, sheet rock, take out old slating, put the kitchen counters on, build two custom units in the kitchen, flooring, baseboards and paint. (If you can do any (or all) of these things), let us know and we will be putting together a run sheet for the work needed.
