Restore Casper's Spark

Hi everyone, my name is Nadya and I am raising funds on behalf of our family dog, Casper (our little ballerino). When we first saw little Casper, we were in awe...a pink and black dotted nose! While his nose caught our eyes, Casper himself caught our hearts; he immediately climbed onto our laps and stayed there. That was 8, almost 9 years ago! Since then, Casper has grown into the sweetest pup imaginable. He sits a little sideways, and stands a little funny (can you tell where the ballerino comes from?), but that's just what makes him unique! You'll usually find him hanging out with his cat sibling Cheddar, or cuddling up to any person who has a soft lap and gives many pets. He also loves to go on hikes, where he hops over rocks and smells the flowers.
Unfortunately, Casper is currently unable to enjoy what he normally would. We first noticed that Casper had a sort of spasm in his neck. Soon the spasm was constant and he would just stand there, not wanting to move. Then the spasms got worse, and Casper would cry out at any movement. After taking him to the vet multiple times, doctors eventually found a large herniation in between two of his spinal disks. We tried steroids and painkillers at first, but Casper did not get better. The medication helped with his pain, but he was still unable to do everyday activities, even something as simple as going for a walk. Now surgery is the only option. Multiple emergency vet visits, medication, tests, and now the surgery...all the costs add up, and fast. The surgery (and everything included with it) will cost around $8000-$10000, and that's not counting the MRI (which was around $5000) and the other previous vet visits.
So, we kindly ask for your help. Casper is currently in the hospital, under observation. If all goes well, we are hoping to schedule the surgery next week (July 14-18). The funds will help cover the cost of everything related to the surgery and the recovery. My family and I appreciate any help that you can give, even if it's just sharing the link and sending well wishes. A little would go a long way. We just want to see his smile again. Thank you.
