The Carle Place High School Scholarship Fund has a proud tradition of helping alumni achieve their college and career goals. For 70 years, generous support from events like Frog Hollow Frolics and Dollars for Scholars allowed the fund to provide substantial, multi-year scholarships. These awards made a real difference for students, sometimes enabling them to attend universities instead of local community colleges.

Unfortunately, the events that funded the scholarship for so many years are no longer active, and as a result, there has been no influx of funds for over 20 years. Although we continue to offer scholarships to comparable numbers of students for comparable sums, this is unsustainable unless we fundraise. While every bit helps, we know that restoring the fund to its former strength would allow us to offer larger scholarships and possibly return to multi-year awards. This would open doors for future students and continue the legacy of support that has meant so much to our community.

As the current chair of the Scholarship Committee and a CP scholarship recipient himself, Tony is excited to be part of this endeavor. We promise complete transparency as we proceed with this fundraising process. The district cannot be involved in direct fundraising. They maintain the bank account for the scholarship fund and welcome donations. We’re launching this GoFundMe to reach out to all Carle Place alumni and supporters. We’re also working with Board of Education members to create new fundraising opportunities, like a Dinner/Dance or Casino Night—though Donkey Basketball is officially retired! We welcome your ideas and would love volunteers to help organize events. If you have fundraising experience, please reach out.
