Restore Butch's Connection to His Community

Last Thursday morning, 08/29/2024 at 7:20 AM, Butch was physically assaulted without provocation by his live-in caretaker's 23-year-old son, who is in the middle of having a vicious drug and alcohol problem.

This young man is currently being detained in jail until his court date, in which he will be sentenced to 3 to 5 years in jail for this violent assault against Butch; a retired, kind, loving, respectful & 100% disabled man, who employed his parents & provides a comfortable home for his family.

Butch is a 78-year-old wheelchair-bound single man; never married, no children, and is the only surviving member of his family. Butch was born and raised in Addison, Michigan, in a well-rounded, loving, working-class family with one sibling. His last family member, a sister, recently passed away last year.

Butch was born with muscular dystrophy and has been physically disabled all of his life. Butch is a high school graduate and worked 30 years in a local Michigan factory. He retired when he became 100% disabled at age 50. Butch owns his own home and has full-time live-in caretakers who have been living with him there for multiple years with their two young sons, one of whom did this to him.

The above-mentioned attack was unprovoked. Butch had no way of defending himself against his attacker. Not only was Butch violently assaulted, but his attacker also destroyed his laptop computer and cell phone.

Our goal is to help replace Butch's iPhone & laptop as soon as possible because Butch is a daily ZOOM AA meeting maker and has been clean and sober, maintaining an active recovery program for over 35 years to date. Thank you for helping us help sweet Butch!
