Restore Aurora's Home After Devastating Flood
Donation protected
My name is Kyle Lerner, I was unaffected by the flood on July 4th but my friend Aurora was highly affected. It broke my heart to see how Auroras life was completely turned up-side down by this flood and I wanted to help Aurora but I knew I couldn't do it alone so I decided to start a Go-Fund Me for Aurora. Please help me help Aurora recover from this disaster.
Aurora Prieto is a San Angelo, Texas resident of 39 years. Like many San Angelo natives, on the morning of July 4th, Aurora and her husband Pablo awoke to a flooded house with over a foot of water inside.
They spent the 4th of July sandbagging, scooping, and dumping the water out of the house to prevent further damage. As of 07/07/2025, one room still has water in it. Homeowners insurance in Texas doesn't cover floods or rising water from rainfall. Aurora and her family are facing a major catastrophic loss due to the flash flood. All the flooring, drywall, and insulation will have to be gutted and replaced to prevent mold growth. The air conditioner will also need to be replaced or extensively repaired as it doesn't work after being submerged in water. Furniture and possessions were also destroyed by the flood on July 4th. The flood that occurred on July 4th was of historic proportions. San Angelo, Texas received its yearly rainfall of 15 inches in less than 4 hours. Most of the residents affected by this catastrophe did not live in a flood zone. We are asking for donations for Aurora and Pablo to assist with repairing their damaged home and help replace lost possessions. We are expecting damages to be in excess of $80,000.
