Sin embargo, detrás de su sonrisa, Angie lleva una lucha que la ha acompañado desde que tenía apenas 4 años.

El 7 de junio de 2017, un accidente inesperado cambió su vida. Angie se cayó de la cama y, al caer, todo el peso de su pequeño cuerpo impactó sobre su brazo izquierdo. La fractura del hueso radio fue tan grave que, a pesar de múltiples intervenciones médicas, su brazo no ha sanado correctamente.

Con el paso del tiempo, los intentos por corregir la lesión en nuestro país no han dado los resultados esperados. A pesar de los grandes esfuerzos de los médicos y de nuestra familia, la deformidad en el brazo de Angie ha limitado su desarrollo físico y ha causado un profundo daño emocional.

Para Angie, cada día se ha vuelto un desafío. A medida que crece, también crecen su vergüenza y su miedo a las preguntas y miradas de los demás. Prefiere evitar interactuar con personas nuevas, temiendo tener que dar explicaciones sobre su brazo. Su confianza se ha visto gravemente afectada, y como padres, ver su tristeza y aislamiento es desgarrador.

Esta situación ha sido un peso emocional no solo para Angie, sino también para nosotros como familia. Nos rompe el corazón saber que su potencial, su alegría y su confianza están siendo limitados por algo que queremos con todas nuestras fuerzas solucionar.

Pero hay esperanza. Después de años buscando una solución, hemos encontrado a un médico en el extranjero que está dispuesto a tratar el caso de Angie. Este especialista confía en que puede corregir la deformidad con una cirugía altamente especializada, devolviéndole no solo la funcionalidad de su brazo, sino también la confianza para enfrentar la vida con alegría y sin limitaciones.

Sin embargo, esta oportunidad tiene un costo que nuestra familia no puede asumir por completo. Necesitamos recaudar fondos para cubrir los gastos de la cirugía, los viajes y el tiempo que necesitaremos permanecer en el extranjero para su recuperación.

As time went on, attempts to correct the injury in our home country have not yielded the desired results. Despite the tireless efforts of doctors and our family, Angie’s arm remains deformed, limiting her physical development and causing significant emotional distress.

For Angie, each day has become increasingly difficult. As she grows older, so do her feelings of shame and discomfort. She avoids interacting with new people, fearing their questions or stares at her arm. The emotional toll continues to deepen, and as parents, it is heartbreaking to witness her confidence and joy being overshadowed by her pain and isolation.

This has been an incredibly challenging journey not only for Angie but also for her family. Watching her retreat into herself, feeling ashamed and limited by her arm, is a constant source of sorrow.

But there is hope. After years of searching for answers, we found a doctor in the United States willing to take on Angie’s case. This specialist believes they can correct the deformity through a highly specialized surgery, restoring both the functionality of her arm and her confidence to live freely and joyfully.
