Riversedge Campground and Store has long been a cherished destination for guests and staff alike, nestled along the Black River in Reynolds County. Recently, our community faced a historic and catastrophic flood—the worst on record, surpassing even the devastating 1993 event. While the store survived that previous flood, this time it was destroyed, and the campground suffered severe damage. Thankfully, no lives were lost, but we now face immense financial challenges, especially since flood insurance is not available in this area. One guest lost their truck and RV, but fortunately had insurance; Riversedge does not, making the path to recovery even more daunting.

The funds raised will go directly toward rebuilding the store and campground, preserving the history and character that make Riversedge so special. We are committed to salvaging as much as possible from the original store, including unique features like chandeliers, the wagon wheel swing, and historic logs. Local Amish craftsmen, who have previously provided quality and affordable work, will be hired to restore the property using these salvaged materials. Plans are also in place to raise the store’s foundation for future safety and to improve the exit road for emergency evacuations, ensuring a safe haven for guests and staff during any future floods.
