On August 4th my husband Sam Caesar was meeting with his crew at work (UPS) when he collapsed suddenly and was rushed to St. Jude’s Providence in Fullerton California. Sam was diagnosed with having a stroke due to A-fibrillation. The stroke affected Sam’s right side of his body. He now experiences poor eye sight in his right eye, no feeling in his shoulder, arm, hand, and fingers. It also impaired his thigh, leg and foot as well.
Sam had retired in 2018 to pursue a singing career and was currently working with two singing groups. At the age of 61, Sam had the energy equivalent to an 18 year old. He picked up a seasonal position last Christmas with UPS, and was then offered a supervisory position as a permanent employee. In addition, he worked Insta Cart in his spare time as well.
The reason for this go fund me page is so we can afford to get a home care nurse to help aid Sam in his recovery. Unfortunately, Sam was the bread winner for the family and the home care service is not covered under his or my insurance so it becomes an out of pocket expense. The approximate service fees run around $30+ an hour. Sam cannot be left alone or unattended in any way, shape or form.
Thankfully, he is receiving physical therapy for walking, speech therapy and occupational therapy. We are working and praying for a full recovery where he can do practical things like we do everyday like; shower, brush our teeth, comb our hair, dress ourselves, feed ourselves and so on.
Your support and prayers mean the world to us while I learn to manage this unexpected event and expenses that have devastated our family. Thank you for your generosity.
With Love,
Kathy Caesar.
