Restock Roundup

Hunger does not discriminate. No one should ever go hungry.

Our communities and its’ families are truly feeling the strain. This has only increased during these unprecedented times which has led to a rise in food insecurities.

East Wenatchee Grocery Outlet and Assisted Living Facilities in the Wenatchee area have come together with a mission: to help feed our friends and neighbors in the valley through the East Wenatchee New Song Food Pantry.

The New Song Food Pantry has provided meals to families and elderly-shut-in for years, delivering straight to their doors. They have been recognized as a significant source of food for those in need. With the holiday season fast approaching and their cupboards bare, there isn’t much in the way to provide. We are asking you to consider donating financially or with nonperishable food items. Our hopes are to continue to enhance the life of every person we serve.

With the shutdown across Washington State and the country, many families found themselves out of jobs and, due to school closures, are now providing in-home instruction relying on pantries and food banks for their next meals. There are several open-air panties available at churches minimally stocked throughout the valley that provide nominal assistance and Serve Wenatchee Valley is doing their best to keep up with the growing need.

The school district recognized the stress on families to provide and have been feeding children during lunch hours since the beginning of the shutdown. This helps during class sessions but does not cover evening family meals nor the holidays. NS Food Pantry works with schools to help meet the needs of struggling locals.

Grocery Outlet and Assisted Living Facilities in the Wenatchee area are drop off points for those wanting to make non-perishable food item donations, or you can drop by New Song and meet the wonderful staff who make the magic happen for those in need. Any and all donations are graciously accepted.

Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 11 am to 3 pm in the East Wenatchee Grocery Outlet parking lot, we will be hosting the food drive for those who want to stop by to make a donation and have a bite to eat courtesy of the sponsorships of local businesses for this year’s Restock Roundup. We will also be maintaining this GoFundMe account year-round. The hopes are to continually maintain a full a pantry.
