Fund for Employees of the Half Nelson

Donation protected
On April 30, the Mississippi River breached a temporary flood wall in Davenport, Iowa, inundating several blocks of downtown with a historic amount of floodwater. The Half Nelson, a brand new restaurant which was scheduled to have its grand opening that day, was one of the many businesses affected.

Twenty five employees had already spent nearly a month training for the grand opening of the Half Nelson, and are now temporarily out-of-work while the clean-up process occurs. Most of the staff has not worked since the last day of training on April 28, and will not be able to work until the clean-up and restoration is complete, which could take up to another four weeks (around June 16).

All funds raised will be dispersed equitably among the staff to make up for the loss in their personal incomes which this disaster has caused. All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
