You can make a difference by donating today to Alex Read Theatre Performances Inc. Our Charity has been set up to support and develop innovation within Story Telling for stage and screen.

Our home is the Alex Theatre in St Kilda and our immediate focus is activities within the City of Port Phillip in Melbourne and then outwardly from there into Victoria and then into other States within Australia.

Alex Read Theatre Performances Inc envisions a vibrant and healthy community that supports, cultivates, and appreciates the arts, building a stronger society for all to live in.

We are currently raising $300,000.00 to assist with restarting larger-scale Theatre productions at the Alex Theatre as part of the Alex Theatre Company that has been set up as a repertory theatre company supported by Alex Read Theatre Performances Inc to stage Off-Broadway & WestEnd styled shows employing professional Actors and support teams.

We are looking at supporting with your help a minimum of eight (8) of these productions across 2022, which will also assist in reactivating the local businesses on Fitzroy Street and beyond into St Kilda.

We want to see professional Actors and the support teams earning a living from entertaining audiences and we have secured the support of the owners of the Alex Theatre in this project now we need the funds to cover the risk of staging these productions as we come out from under the cloud of the coronavirus... now is the time that we need to get our stages working once again.

The Alex Theatre St Kilda has just been recognised as a Quality Tourism Accredited Business with a newly developed business plan focused on supporting our industry and local businesses in the City of Port Phillip.

We know $300,000.00 is a large amount of money so we have set up a very high level of governance around your support through this platform and through our Public Fund that is managed in line with the requirements of the Register of Cultural Organisations.

As a bonus, we will also support a new venture of "Radio Plays" once we achieve the first $100k and you will receive free access to listen to these new works online or in the luxury of Theatre 2 within the Alex Theatre. We are looking for new Australian works and the bonus is you will trigger the creation of this program as soon as we hit that first milestone in our fundraising endeavors.
