Restarting Handyman Drew

Hi, My name is Andrew and I could really use your help. Over the past two years I’ve been doing my best to capture the American dream by building a local handyman service. We’ve had some good months and some rough months and fortunately business has been steadily growing. Like most small businesses we’ve been walking a fine line between paying bills and reinvesting since day one. In March of this year we reached a major threshold, we were able to buy an old but reliable work truck (2006 Dodge Ram 1500). I didn’t realize how much of a hinge pin our work truck was until it was taken away from me. Last month while on a project, my best friend called and informed me he had broken down on the highway and had been there for quite a while. I rush to bring him some water and a charger for his phone while we waited on a tow truck to arrive. While sitting on the shoulder of I85 a reckless speeder who was swerving in and out of traffic couldn’t adjust to slowing traffic and slammed into the truck we worked so hard to obtain. It wasn’t until I was discharged from the hospital the following day that I realized just how much damage the guy had caused. A few days later after obtaining the police report and being given access to the vehicle at the tow yard, the horror really set in. The tonneau cover was so damaged it allowed 2days worth of rain damaging multiple pieces of equipment. Even then I didn’t realize things would get worse. Turns out the guy had no insurance. Worse yet, not fully understanding how insurance works my “full coverage” didn’t actually cover uninsured motorist. Now not only do I have damaged equipment but no vehicle. It’s really hard for me to write this but I’ve learned that success is largely dependent on momentum. I’ve worked countless hours building Handyman Drew and besides my daughter the success of my business is easily the thing I’m most proud of.    Thank you for taking the time to read this.
